The First Test Drive
Right from the days of my teenage till this day I had this crazy habit of going to any car showroom I see and would trouble that sales person till he cries by asking seriously intense questions about the performance, engine, paint and even till the tires. But one day a real tragedy happened, annoyed by my questions the sales person just gave me the keys and told me “drive it yourself and find out kid”. Well that might seem ordinary, but it really gave me a heart attack when he said that, because I had never even touched the keys of a car in my life and couldn’t even differentiate from the accelerator to the clutch.
So there I was with the keys of a brand new Ford Mustang, not knowing how to even put in the keys, but I got in the car, pulled up all my nerves, fiddled with the keys somewhat and somehow settled in. All the time I was telling to myself ‘come on man put your game face on’ and everything, but suddenly my jaw dropped at the sight of one thing, a girl stood next to me for her chance to test drive the car. Desperate to prove something, did something with a stick to my right side (which later I found it to be the gear knob) and started the engine pressing something near my foot (which again was something dangerous ‘the accelerator pedal’).
To my surprise the engine didn’t turn off and somehow it turned out to be brilliant sort of stunt rather than what I imagined. Got off the car, gave the keys to that supervisor, and said something like “na! Not up to my level” and left that showroom, in fact the city itself and never came back thereafter, but still continued my strange habit however.
